You know how your manager asks a question and in your head you process how you think the conversation and your thought process should go only to realise you’re not thinking in your head, you are thinking out loud… AND it’s too late to take the words back…

That’s how I now find myself in this predicament.  Blogging gulp and in public no less!

So here goes…

One small step for mankind, one giant leap for your career

I can’t believe I am actually going to say this out loud.. and in front of you. ” I am going to  practice what I preach.”

Huh?  Well when it comes to your dream job whether it’s with your existing organization or not , it’s all about being available to be found.   As Recruitment Consultants we advise others to how to plan ahead, how to update your resume, develop your network and be out there for your dream job to find you.  And yes, it’s easier said than done.

It’s really difficult to know where to start.  This is where I thought I would practice what we preach, make a start and bring you along for the ride.  Over the next few months through this column I’ll be here along side you providing some of the tips and tricks, useful articles and resources to ideally enable us all to be found.

So on this cold/crisp/wet (delete which doesn’t apply) winter day I thought we would start with a little light reading and perhaps inspiration.  Go make yourself a hot drink, tune out the distractions and let’s get started…
